New Configuration Tool and Firmware - testers appreciated
#1
Question
Hi Guys,

I've spent almost each early morning (4-7 am) for the last two months to do some improvements to the firmware and configuration tool.

I've just updated the Chrome App, so it should automatically update in your browsers:
http://vair-monitor.com/2016/12/05/vthin...tool-v8-0/
here are some details.

The firmware also contains lots of changes. Primary to make it work more stable and better. And also it had reached my programming skill limits to maintain it so i had to refactor some stuff to make it simple.

You can update to it with "otah" command.

It would be great if i could get some feedback from you about this update. I would like to push this latest version automatically to all devices. I've been testing it in the last week, but i prefer to have some slower ramp up before i do it.

Thanks in advance, Vladimir

Hi Vladimir, just my quick observations regarding new config tool:
1. I was not able to store fixed IP (fulfilled all fields and pressed Set Wifi, after disconnect still no fixed IP)
2. None of commands listed in Settings (Restat, Firmware update, Factory Reset) working for me.
3. I can't see Temperature offset settings - my actual readings are 2 degrees above real temperature.

I'm not sure if it's just my specific issues, but just for sure I'm reporting these to you.
Kind regards,
Ivan

Hi,

I confirm the #2 and #3 for config tool.

In setting, when I press one of the command buttons I get this output:

ready >]
[!otah
Command not recognized
ready >]

Aaahhh i see, the new tool sends the command for firmware update in a way that the old firmware does not recognize it ..
Can you then manually send the command from the input field on the bottom without the ! in front like

otah

once i push the update for all devices, they would automatically get it so this should be fine

OK, I passed otah in the input field, seems to get upgraded well.
