HARRISON, N.J. - Bradley Wright-Phillips and Peguy Luyindula scored, and the New York Red Bulls beat D.C. United 2-0 on Sunday in the first leg of Major League Soccers Eastern Conference semifinals.Thierry Henry set up both goals with brilliant passes. The first was a no-look assist off his back heel to an unmarked Wright-Phillips, who punched it past goalkeeper Bill Hamid in the 40th minute.Luyindula doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, gathering Henrys well-placed delivery from midfield and slotting the finish through Hamids legs.Hamid finished with five saves, but Luis Robles needed only two to hold United without an away goal. The Red Bulls visit United for the second leg of the total-goals series next Saturday. Even with the salary cap being set lower than many general managers expected and hoped for at $69 million and whats considered a shallow pool of top-end players available, this unrestricted-free-agent period figures to follow the familiar script of teams bidding up prices to keep up with each other. Chamberlain joins a retooled bullpen that also includes free agent acquisition Joe Nathan. The hard-throwing Chamberlain, whose slide has been inconsistent in recent years, was 2-1 with one save in 45 games and a career-high 4.93 ERA last season for the New York Yankees. Detroit general manager Dave Dombrowski indicated Friday that the team may not make any more major moves this off-season. The Tigers traded slugger Prince Fielder for second baseman Ian Kinsler last month, and their lineup figures to have less power and more speed next year.dddddddddddd Chamberlain missed almost the entire month of May last season because of a strained right oblique. He was limited to 49 games over the previous two years because of elbow and ankle operations. In additional to his base salary, Chamberlain can earn $500,000 in performance bonuses: $100,000 each for 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55 games. He would get $75,000 if he makes the All-Star team. MINNEAPOLIS -- The Tampa Bay Rays didnt lose their edge during their recent slide. Theyre still strategizing with a World Series in mind. Saving Chris Archers right arm is one example, and he was so good on Friday night there was no concern of overexertion. Archer spun six scoreless innings, and the Rays added to their slim wild-card lead by beating the Minnesota Twins 3-0. "There was no moment that really showed up. He pretty much had his way," said manager Joe Maddon, who was more than satisfied with 87 pitches by the rookie. "I just want to really eye him up, because our intent is to play well into October, and I want to make sure that hes well." The Rays hold the second wild-card spot with four teams still in striking range. They nudged their advantage to 1 1/2 games over Cleveland, due to a loss by New York that pushed the Yankees to two games back. Baltimore (2 1/2 games behind) and Kansas City (3 1/2) are lurking, too. Archer (9-7) scattered three singles and struck out seven without a walk, following a pair of rough outings to start September. In his 20th start, he lowered his ERA to 3.03. "I still feel mentally and physically there. But I have an understanding of the big picture and maybe saving a couple extra innings, just in case if we do make that magical playoff run," Archer said. Yunel Escobar had an RBI double among his three hits for the Rays, and Desmond Jennings and James Loney drove in runs with singles against Kevin Correia (9-12), whose defence behind him was less than ideal. "We need to make the plays that should be made. Were not good enough to make up for that right now," Correia said. After losing 13 of 17 games, the Rays picked up an important victory on Thursday night over AL East-leading Boston on a tiebreaking eighth-inning double by rookie standout Wil Myers. The Rays started their weekend reprieve against the floundering Twins before 11 straight games against wild-card competitors Texas, the Orioles and Yankees. Tampa Bay has won 10 straight games against the Twins, including five this year. The Twins, who lost 15 of their last 18 home games, struck out 11 times. "I know hittings not easy. Ive been there. But you have to defend the plate. You have to put the ball in play. You have no chance when you dont swing," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. Correia, who leads the Twins in wins, starts, innings and strikeouts, left with no outs and two on in the seventh, and reliever Caleb Thielbar escaped with a popped-up bunt by Ben Zobrist that became a double play and a pickoff throw that caught David DeJesus stealing. That was about the only sequence for the Rays that went wrong. Archer took advantage of the weakened Twins lineup, missing star Joe Mauer and a whole lot more, and never let a runner advance past second base. In the fifth inning, he hit Darin Mastroianni with a pitch to put two on with one out. But Archer retired Clete Thomas and Eduardo Escobar on called third strikes, skipping off the mound and pumping his arm with a clenched fist on his way to the dugout. His changeup was extra sharp. "Ive had games where its been decent, but tonight was the best its been in my career," Archer said. Jake McGee, Joel Peralta and Fernando Rodney each pitched a scoreless inning in relief, and Rodney recorded his 35th save in 43 tries with a perfect ninth. So Archer left the game in good hands, even if he felt he couldve pitched longer. "Hes got a long career ahead of him, so at one point hes got to understand that and realize its not a bad thing," catcher Jose Molina said. NOTES: Mauer (concussion) felt good working out for the second straight day, and general manager Terry Ryan said the team will consider taking him on the road next week. ... RHP Jesse Crain, who has yet to pitch for the Rays since being acquired in a July trade with the White Sox because of a shoulder problem, might be ready for game action next week. ... LHP Matt Moore (15-3, 3.18 ERA) will try to extend his seven-game winning streak on Saturday for the Rays, against Twins rookie LHP Andrew Albers (2-2, 3.35 ERA). ... Zobrist became the Rays leader in career walks, passing Carlos Pena on the franchise list. Antonio Garcia Patriots Jersey .Steamboat Ski Resort contends Steamboat Springs, Colorado has long been known as Ski Town, U.S.A., and claims in a new lawsuit that Salt Lake tourism officials violated their trademark when they rolled out the Ski City marketing campaign last month. http://www.patriotsauthoritystore.com/Au...ts-Jersey/ . -- Jose Bautista never worries about hitting homers during the regular season. Deatrich Wise Jr. Womens Jersey . The teams all-time leading scorer, DeRo has won everything there is to win in MLS. Derek Rivers Jersey . Born in Berkeley and raised in Oakland, where he later pitched for the As, Ross beat the Giants for the first time in six career appearances by throwing eight scoreless innings to lead the San Diego Padres to a 2-1 victory Friday night.FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots wore pads as they practiced hard in the rain inside their stadium Wednesday. No light workout on the adjacent field where they usually prepare even though Sundays game against the Buffalo Bills has no impact on either teams playoff status. Not from coach Bill Belichick, who has plenty of experience preparing his teams for the post-season.Well do the same thing we always do, he said. It wont be any different this week than its been any other week. It wont be any different this year than its been any other year. Well do what we feel is best for our football team, period.Hes just not saying what that is.Having clinched the top seed in the AFC and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs, the Patriots (12-3) could limit the playing time of quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski and other key starters. No sense exposing them to injury against the Bills (8-7), who missed the playoffs for the 15th straight season, the longest current drought.Whatever Belichick plans, his players arent saying even if they know. Were players, safety Devin McCourty said. We dont decide who plays or what plays are called. We can only do one thing and thats to be ready to play. They may be more motivated after squeaking out a 17-16 win over the lowly New York Jets last Sunday. Theyd like to go into their first-round bye with a solid performance. When you win a bunch of games, you string a bunch together, you can build some momentum, Brady said. Weve worked pretty hard to get to this point. I think this is the time to put the pedal to the metal and not really go the other direction. For the fourth time in Belichicks 15 years as coach of the Patriots, they clinched their playoff spot before their last game. In three of those years, starters sat out or played less than usual. In the other, 2007, the Patriots were trying to finish 16-0 and did it with a 38-35 win over the New York Giants.Buut this season they clinched the No.dddddddddddd 1 seed when the Cincinnati Bengals beat Denver on Monday night, eliminating the Broncos from contention for that spot. That was really out of our control, Brady said. We did our best to do our part on Sunday, which was good, but still the season is not over for us. There is plenty of time to think about things down the road. This isnt the time for it.The Bills are coming off a 26-24 upset by the Oakland Raiders but have a formidable defence that has allowed the fourth fewest yards and fifth fewest points. But their running game is weak and the Patriots havent allowed a second-half touchdown in their last five games.I dont think Buffalo cares much if were the No. 1 seed, McCourty said. We talk about how after Thanksgiving its important for us to get better each time we step on the field. So I think getting the No. 1 seed doesnt change that. We still want to play good football every time we go out there.Belichicks constant message to his players is not to look beyond the next game. But theres one game that five of them would love to miss — the Pro Bowl.Thats scheduled for the weekend before the Super Bowl and those players hope to be preparing for that.Special teams captain Matthew Slater was humbled to be chosen for the fourth straight season but said, I have no desire to play in it. What goes on in this locker room is more important to me.Brady, Gronkowski, cornerback Darrelle Revis and kicker Stephen Gostkowski also were picked. But this week theyre focused on beating the Bills at home for the 14th straight time.We have to stay in tune, Revis said. We have to keep that level of energy that we had throughout the course of the year.No matter who plays. Were going to do whats best for the New England Patriots, Belichick said. Thats what Ive always done. I cant imagine ever doing anything different.___AP NFL website: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

WASHINGTON - The leadership Paul Pierce was supposed to supply to the Wizards was wasted when he was tossed before halftime in his first home game with Washington on Saturday. The way Otto Porter played in the second half, it didnt matter.Starting the third quarter in place of Pierce, Porter — essentially a nonfactor last season as a rookie No. 3 overall draft pick — scored 19 of his career-high 21 points in the second half of the Wizards 108-97 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.Given the way matters transpired with Pierce and Porter, the Wizards players and coaches had trouble deciding who should get the game ball.We said Otto, guard Garrett Temple said. And then I looked and said it needs to be Paul. Because if it werent for Paul, Otto wouldnt be playing. He was laughing. He said, Yeah, I did it on purpose, man. I wanted yall to get hype.Porter played the entire second half and finished 7 for 11 from the field and 6 for 7 from the free-throw line. His previous career high was 13 points in this seasons opener, and he never reached double digits last season. Last year, fans chanted his name to urge the coaches to put him in the game. On Saturday, they chanted it to celebrate a breakout performance.(Pierce) took one for the team, arguing a call, Porter said. But at the same time, I knew, hey, its an opportunity to step up.Nene added 22 points, and Marcin Gortat had 20 points as Washingtons frontcourt size overwhelmed the speed of the youthful Bucks. But it was the 37-year-old Pierce who displayed immaturity when he complained and received back-to-back technical fouls for disputing a clear-path call with 7 seconds remaining in the first half.Pierce took his protest even further, taking a seat on the Wizards bench instead of heading for the locker room. One of the game officials, Jason Phillips, gestured for Pierce to leave, but Pierce stayed in his seat. Only after Washington coach Randy Wittman also gestured did Pierce get up and walk toward the tunnel, escorted by a team security official.Pierce left the locker room before reporters were allowed to enter after the game, and the team did not make him available for comment.Wittman said the clear-path foul on Pierce was a good call, but Pierce didnt realize it at the time because he didnt know there was a Bucks player further down court. He lost his composure a little bit, Wittman said. I didnt think he deserved the second (technical), I think that was too quick. He deserved the first one. I think he was trying to get one, to be honest with you, and the second one was uncalled for.John Wall had 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds for the Wizards. Temple, starting while Bradley Beal recovers from broken wrist, also played the entire second half and finished with a career-high 18 points.Brandon Knight scored 24 points and Jerryd Bayless had 20 for the Bucks, who never led and committed 28 turnovers. Milwaukee had turnovers from 10 players in the first half alone.I think one part of the process is understanding that we deserve to win just like any other team in this league, Bucks coach Jason Kidd said. We have to believe that we can win. We cant just go out there and play with energy and effort.___REPLAY DELAYWittman blamed Pierces technicals in part on the lengthy video review of the clear-path foul.I thought this new replay system was supposed to be fast, Wittman said. That might have been the slowest replay for a breakaway foul that Ive ever seen. And, once you see it, it wouldnt take you but a second to say thats a breakaway.MORE TECHSWall and O.J. Mayo were among a scrum of players exchanging unpleasantries near the end of the third quarter, and were both assessed technicals. After the period ended, Kidd was whistled for a tech.TIP-INSBucks: The Bucks have lost 16 straight on the road.Wizards: Despite coming off one of their most successful seasons in decades, the Wizards were about 2,000 fans shy of a sellout for their home opener.UP NEXTBucks: at Indiana on Tuesday.Wizards: at New York on Tuesday.___Follow Joseph White on Twitter: http://twitter.com/JGWhiteAP http://www.hockeyleafsnhl.com/authentic-...fs-jersey/ . Colton Sissons also scored for Milwaukee (19-12-8), which went ahead with a two-goal third period. Wade MacLeod and Greg McKegg replied for Toronto (23-12-4). http://www.hockeyleafsnhl.com/authentic-...fs-jersey/ . -- Damian Lillard couldnt believe when he got a clear look at the rim. http://www.hockeyleafsnhl.com/authentic-...fs-jersey/ . Weise will have his hearing with the NHL head office over the phone, while the league has requested an in-person hearing with Kassian. Oilers centre Sam Gagner suffered a broken jaw after getting hit with a high stick from Kassian in Edmontons 5-2 win. http://www.hockeyleafsnhl.com/authentic-...fs-jersey/ . Bryce Harper? He also came into Wednesday without a long ball and hadnt driven in a run. He was hitting .160, had nearly three times as many strikeouts as hits and was dropped to seventh in the batting order. http://www.hockeyleafsnhl.com/authentic-...fs-jersey/ . And follow TSN.ca right through Deadline Day for all the updates. From Pierre LeBrun While Anaheim GM Bob Murray said earlier this season he was not going to trade Jonas Hiller despite the fact hes an unrestricted free agent on July 1, some sources have told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun that Murray might be willing to move another goalie.GLASGOW, Scotland - Canadian wrestlers earned two gold medals and a bronze Tuesday at the Commonwealth Games. Ottawas Erica Wiebe claimed gold in the womens 75-kilogram event, and later Korey Jarvis won gold in the mens 125-kilo competition. Wiebe won all four of her matches, capping her run by defeating Indian wrestler Jyoti by pinfall. She also beat Englands Sophie Edwards, Cameroons Annabel Ali and Nigerias Blessing Onyebuchi on points. "To win in a high pressure situation was big," said Wiebe. "I was feeling it today, I was feeling the pressure and I put a lot on myself, but this is what I need going into the next two years I need to continue to win and continue to win in situations like this." Ali won silver while Onyebuchi took bronze. "When I won it was emotional," said Wiebe. "This is what I have been thinking about and dreaming about. It was awesome to have that moment for myself, the first time that I did this at a big event," said Wiebe. "I have never had my anthem played so I was thinking about that before I went out there and that is what I was wrestling for today.ddddddddddddquot; Jarvis defeated Rajeev Tomar in the mens 125-kilo final, outscoring the Indian 3-0. "I didnt get as much offence going as what I would have wanted to," said Jarvis. "I thought I would have been able to move him a lot more, but he is a pretty big guy and pretty solid in his position, but I ended up persevering." Jarvis was a silver medallist four years ago in New Delhi. "It was a tight win, but it was too long," he said. "The silver medal in Delhi haunted my dreams, glad I got the gold here." Tomar took silver, while Englands Chinu XXX and Nigerias Sinivie Boltic took bronze. Also Tuesday, Jasmine Mian of Barrie, Ont., won bronze in the womens 48-kilogram event, defeating Nigerias Rosemary Nweke 13-2 in a bronze-medal match. "I was eager this morning to make that gold medal final. I was a little hesitant and not myself," said Mian. TSN.ca presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League staff. Rankings were weighted evenly between separate lists made by TSN Radio host and soccer analyst Gareth Wheeler as well as TSN.cas soccer editors. 1. Arsenal (Last Week- 1) The Gunners moved five points clear at the top of the table with a 2-0 victory over Liverpool. Santi Cazola scored in the first half and Aaron Ramsey fired home from 25 yards out in the second to secure the win. Arsenal have collected 25 points from their first 10 games. 2. Tottenham (LW- 4) Keeper Hugo Lloris was injured but stayed in the game during Spurs 0-0 draw with Everton. Lloris banged his head off Romelu Lukakus knee and though it looked as though he was going to be removed from the game, waived off backup keeper Brad Friedel and stayed in the game. With the point, Tottenham now sits tied for second in points but fourth when goal differential is taken into account. 3. Chelsea (LW- 2) Chelsea fell five points off the top of the table as they were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle. Though they controlled the majority of the play, they were not able to find a way past Newcastle keeper Tim Krul. In fact, if it wasnt for keeper Petr Cech they would have slumped to an even bigger defeat. 4. Manchester City (LW- 5) While a goaltending controversy ruled the pre-game, Citys offence told the story in a landslide 7-0 victory over Norwich City. Six different goal scorers and an own goal powered the attack and goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon picked up the clean sheet being forced to make only one save. 5. Liverpool (LW- 3) Neither of Liverpools in form strike partnership of Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge could find the mark as they fell 2-0 to top of the table Arsenal. Suarez was the livelier of the duo but had numerous attempts on goal turned away as his side suffered its second defeat of the season. 6. Everton (LW- 7) Both team had chances but in the end Everton and Tottenham played to a 0-0 draw. In a back in forth contest, neither team was able to grab control and find the marker that would give them the game. Keeper Tim Howard was strong in goal earning himself another clean sheet. 7. Southampton (LW- 6) After conceding a goal in the opening minute to Stokes keeper, Jay Rodriguez struck back before the half in a 1-1 draw. Southampton pressed the action late and almost had the winning marker but in the end had to settle for the single point. 8. Manchester United (LW- 8) Antonio Valencia, Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney all scored in the first 22 minutes of the game as United cruised to a 3-1 victory over Fulham. Though Uniteds second half performance wasnt as dominant as the first they were never in danger of leaving with anything but all three points in this contest. 9. Hull City (LW- 10) A first half own goal helped Hull take a 1-0 victory over Sunderland. Hull played the entire second half against nine men after two red cards late in the opening half sealed Sunderlands fate in the contest. Though they were not able to score a second goal, Hull did control the action for the majority of the game. 10. Newcastle United (LW- 13) Two goals in 21 minutes were enough to give Newcastle a 2-0 victory over title contenders Chelsea. Yoan Gouffran scored in the 68th minute and Loic Remy put the game out of reach with a second goal in the 89th. Newcastle had to withstand lots of pressure from their opponents and in the end were able to collect their fourth win of the season. 11. West Bromwich Albion (LW- 12) A goal in each half was enough to lead West Brom to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Saido Berahino and Gareth McAuley each scored and Stephane Sessegnon was influential for the winning side. 12. Cardiff City (LW- 16) In the first top flight South Wales derby, Cardiff earned a 1-0 victory over Swansea on the strength of a 62nd minute goal by Steven Caulker. The former Swansea man fired home a header to give the home side a victory and bragging rights over their rival. 13. Swansea City (LW- 9) In their first top flight derby match against their South Wales rival, Swansea fell 1-0 at the hands of Cardiff City. Michu continues to struggle for Swansea and was subbed off in the 65th minute and keeper Michael Vorn was sent off in stoppage time. 14. Aston Villa (LW- 11) Christian Benteke had the best chance of the contest but he wasnt able to find the mark as Aston Villa drew West Ham 0-0. Andreas Weimann also had a chance go by the boards as Villa left Upton Park with a point for their efforts. 15. West Ham United (LW- 15) After three straight home losses, the Hammers finally earned a point at home in a scoreless draw against Aston Villa. West Ham enjoyed more of the possession during the game but were not able to break the deadlock. West Ham have gone 375 minutes without scoring a goal at home. 16. Stoke City (LW- 17) Keeper Asmir Begovic scored for Stoke in the opening minute of the game but it wasnt enough as they split the points with Southampton in a 1-1 final. Begovics strike ties him with Dwight Yorke and Chris Sutton for the fourth fastest goal in Premier League history. 17. Fulham (LW- 14) Fulham manager Martin Jol is back in the hot seat after his side fell 3-1 to Manchester United. Alexander Kacaniklic pulled a goal back for the Cottagers in the 65th minute but it wasnt enough to get them back into the game. Sascha Riether was charged with violent conduct by the FA following the contest for a stamp on United midfielder Adnan Januzaj and given a three-match ban. 18. Norwich City (LW- 18) For 16 minutes Norwich were even with Manchester City, however they were torn apart over the remainder of the game as they fell 7-0. Keeper John Ruddy had a nightmare performance as he gave up goals to six different goal scorers and a seventh to one of his own men. Norwich never threatened the City goal. 19. Sunderland (LW- 19) A Carlos Jimenez Cuellar own goal in the first half and red cards to both Lee Cattermole and Andrea Dossena doomed Sunderland to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Hull City. Adam Johnson came on as a substitute and had the best chance to rescue a point for Sunderland but saw it turned away by Hull keeper Steve Harper. 20. Crystal Palace (LW- 20) Bottom of the table Crystal Palace fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion. This defeat was the seventh in a row for Palace who have only one once during the season. Adlene Guedioura had the best chance for the losing side. Peja Stojakovic Kings Jersey . Davis hit a replay-delayed grand slam and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-5 on Tuesday night. Davis was awarded a slam off Erik Bedard (3-5) during a five-run third-inning after a video review showed his drive struck the foul pole. He reached second base on an opposite-field shot down the left-field line. The review that lasted 1 minute, 18 seconds revealed the ball hit the pole a few feet above the wall, and Davis was given a home run. "I couldnt tell," Davis said. "I was hoping it would be fair and deep enough to where we could get at least one run in. Ill take a double, but at the same time if I can get a grand slam out of it Ill take that too." Orioles manager Buck Showalter thought he heard the ball strike the pole. "The way things kind of echo here, you can hear it," Showalter said. "We have things in place to get it right." Rays left fielder David DeJesus stayed in the game after he ran hard into a low fence near the foul pole while chasing Davis homer. "I was kind of lucky," DeJesus said. "I hit the wall first and then I just crumbled. But last year when I separated my shoulder, I went straight into the wall with my shoulder. I had no idea if it hit the wall or hit the pole." The Orioles also got a two-run homer from Steve Pearce. Sean Rodriguez and Desmond Jennings homered for Tampa Bay, which is 5-16 in its last 21 games. The Rays pulled within 5-2 in the bottom of the third when Rodriguez and Jennings hit consecutive solo homers off Miguel Gonzalez (4-4). Baltimore went ahead 7-4 on Pearces two-run drive in the seventh. Tampa Bay got one run back on Yunel Escobars eighth-inning sacrifice fly. Gonzalez, activated from the 15-day disabled list before the game, allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings. He had been out since May 31 due to a strained right oblique. "I thought his stuff was pretty crisp, but the command wasnt what hes capable of," Showalter said. Zach Britton pitched the ninth for his eighth save. Bedard gave up five runs and four hits over four-plus innings. "It really comes down to starting pitching drives the engine, and (Bedard) had a tough day," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Ray Emery made 22 saves and five different players recorded a goal, as Philadelphia claimed a 5-2 victory over Minnesota at Xcel Energy Center. Sean Couturier, Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Vincent Lecavalier and Michael Raffl all lit the lamp for the Flyers, who won three straight for the first time since early November to start an eight-game road trip. Marco Scandella and Charlie Coyle tallied for the Wild, who have dropped four straight games. Darcy Kuemper, pressed into duty for Niklas Backstrom after he suffered an undisclosed injury, stopped 25 shots in the setback. Down 3-2, the Wild might have been cheated out of a tying goal with 1:28 gone in the third. Zach Parises second try from the left side along the goal line was ruled to have eluded Emery but only after the net was dislodged at the far post by a collision between Philly defenseman Andrew MacDonald and Minnesota forward Jason Pominville. Replay seemed to suggest neither post was noticeably off its moorings. That reprieve galvanized the Flyers, who went up 4-2 at 5:29 after Lecavalier redirected a MacDonald shot from the left side of the crease. Minnesota had another potential score inside of three minutes remaining waved off due to a high stick, when Thomas Vanek was ruled to have clearly touched the puck illegally with his blade well above his head. Raffl hit the empty net with 29 seconds to play thanks to Jakub Voracek -- who extended his NHL-leading point total to 46 with the primary assist. Couturier picked up a failed clear in the right circle, moved wide and then slipped a pass into the crease intended for R.J. Umberger, who didnt even touch it as it deflected off a Wild players skate and slid past Kuemper at 7:16 of the opening period. Giroux pounced on a Luke Schenn rebound and popped it home from the left side to make it 2-0 at 9:33, but 30 seconds later the Wild halved their deficit on a Scandella blast from the left point. Philly committed back-to-back penalties early in the second and Minnesota cashed in at 3:43 when Coyle deflected a Pominville drive while gliding between the circles. The visitors took a 3-2 lead with 4:38 remaining in the period as Simmonds picked the far corner from the right wing. Game Notes The Orange and Black hadnt taken three straight since Nov. 4-8, and hadnt won three in a row on the road since Feb. 1-March 2, 2014 a span interrupted by the Olympic break ... BOSTON -- David Krejci scored a second-period power-play goal and Chad Johnson made 22 saves for his second career shutout and the Boston Bruins earned a 4-0 victory over the last-place Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Krejcis 12th goal of the season at 2:06 of the second period was enough for the Bruins to win for the sixth time in their past eight games and maintain the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. Dougie Hamilton, Carl Soderberg and Torey Krug scored in the third for Boston. Jarome Iginla and Zdeno Chara each had two assists. Johnson started in place of Tuukka Rask, who was pulled during Thursdays loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Edmonton goalie Ben Scrivens was coming off a scintillating performance against San Jose on Wednesday, when he set the NHL regular-season record for saves in a regulation shutout with 59 during the Oilers 3-0 win over the Sharks. Every night of the Stanley Cup playoffs, TSN hockey analyst and former NHL goaltender Jamie McLennan breaks down each goalies performance. Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings (3) – Quick had a couple good saves early on Patrick Sharp and Brandon Saad. First goal was a give-and-go quick play that Patrick Kane forehanded blocker side on a one-timer. The second one is a smart play by Ben Smith to bank it off Quick. Great save on a 2-on-0 where Sharp had an open net backdoor. He showed his agility and edge work a lot tonight. Huge save on Nick Leddy early in the third period to keep it at 2 to 1. He was screened on the Duncan Keith goal by Saad in front and was beaten short side. The game-winning goal was a seeing eye shot that goes short side through a screen by Andrew Shaw. Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks (4) – Crawford had good saves early on Tanner Pearson and Jeff Carter. The goal by Dwight King is a quick play that comes from behind the net and it beats him five-hole. Big saves in the second period on Carter, Tyler Toffoli and Marian Gaborik, to keep it close. He was the story in the second period for the Hawks, as he battled to keep the lead. Drew Doughtys goal was a screen shot with Mike Richards in front. The save of the game was when he robbed Anze Kopitar with the glove. Alec Martinez beats him five-hole through traffic, then saves his best work for the dying seconds as he battled to keep the puck out as the Kings pressed hard to get the equalizer. BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins own the NHLs best home record. Now they know theyll have home-ice advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. Johnny Boychuk scored the tiebreaking goal with 6:06 left in the third period, Milan Lucic had two goals and the Bruins clinched the conferences best record with a 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday afternoon. With four games remaining on their schedule, the Bruins have 50 regulation and overtime wins -- the leagues first tiebreaker. Second-place Pittsburgh has 44 and cant catch Boston if it wins the rest of its games. "You work so hard for that all season, its nice we could do it here," Lucic said. It was Bostons league-leading 30th home victory. The win also moved Boston two points ahead of St. Louis for the NHLs best record. The Blues lost to Colorado on Saturday. "With the win today we clinched (the conference), and its good for our team," Boston defenceman Torey Krug said. "Were excited about having home ice now." Boston coach Claude Julien knows its been a good season. "You just have to look at our record," he said. "Were at 113 (points). I think that shows you overall weve been a pretty good team. Weve had struggles at times, but I dont think theres an area Id consider a weakness on the team." David Krejci also scored for the Bruins and Patrice Bergeron extended his consecutive point streak to 11 games, setting up Boychuks go-ahead score. Wayne Simmonds and Jay Rosehill scored for the Flyers, who are in a tight race with a group of teams for a playoff spot. "Every game is a must-win," Flyers captain Claude Giroux said. "There are a lot of teams behind us trying to make the playoffs. We have played good enough to be in the position we are right now and we cant forget that. We have to remember that we are a good team and we are in this position because we did a lot of good things this year." Tuukka Rask stopped 24 shots for the Bruins, who had lost their past two games. Ray Emery made 37 saves for the Flyers. Philadelphia has lost three straight. Emery hopes the Flyers can turn things around quickly. "The playoffs come fast and if youre not playing well, normally you see yourselves out pretty quick," he said. "So we definitely want to be sharp going in." Bergeron won a faceoff cleanly back to Boychuk, who fired a slap shot past Emerys glove for the go-ahead goal. Lucic scored less than a minute later and Chris Kelly added an empty-netter with 21 seconds to play. The teams were tied 2-2 entering the third period after the Flyers came back twice. Trailing 1-0, the Flyers snapped a lengthy scoreless stretch on Simmonds power-play goal 14:36 into the second when he gained possession of a shot off the back boards and slipped a backhand behind Rask. Philadelphia was shut out in its past two games, and it halted the scoreless stretch at 165:01. But Boston regained the lead 19 seconds later when Krejci circled the net and fed Lucic, who one-timed a shot past Emery from the slot. Philadelphia then tied it at 2 when Rosehill collected Michael Raffls pass alone at the bottom of the right circle, spun quickly and beat Rask inside the far post at 16:21. Krejcis goal 15:56 into the first period gave Boston a 1-0 lead. He scored off the rebound of Loui Erikssons shot, collecting the puck and shifting to his right before firing a wrist shot into the open side of the net. NOTES: Boston F Jarome Iginla was sidelined for the second time in three games, moving Eriksson to the top line.
